The Jinlong Rare Earth IAM Practitioner Training Workshop was successfully held!

In response to Xiamen Tungsten International’s call for advanced manufacturing and to steadily advance the IAM project, the Jinlong Rare Earth IAM Practitioners Training Workshop was successfully held from October 23 to October 25, 2020, in the training room on the second floor of the company’s headquarters. A total of 59 participants from Jinlong Rare Earth, Ganzhou Hongfei, Ganzhou Haopeng, and Zhujiang Optoelectronics gathered in Changting to jointly learn about IAM-related knowledge. At the outset of the training workshop, Chen Dakun, General Manager of the company, delivered a welcoming speech, expressing the company’s active response to the Group’s “Overall Plan for Fully Implementing International Advanced Manufacturing.” He emphasized that, based on Jinlong’s current situation, the company would promote lean management, strengthen its foundations, and strive for continuous improvement and excellence. This training workshop specially invited several experts from Shuben Technology.

Good News | The company has been awarded the First Prize of the 2019 Rare Earth Science and Technology Award.

On October 20, the award ceremony for the Rare Earth Science and Technology Award—jointly established by the Chinese Society of Rare Earths and the China Rare Earth Industry Association—was officially held in Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. The scientific and technological project “Preparation Technology for Low-Thorium, Low-Uranium, and Low-Chloride-Root Lutetium Oxide for PET Applications,” developed by the company’s Rare Earth Elements Division, was awarded the First Prize of the 2019 Rare Earth Science and Technology Award. This project addressed the challenge of difficult back-extraction of heavy rare earth elements and significantly improved the purity of lutetium oxide. Compared with similar products both domestically and internationally, the low-thorium, low-uranium, and low-chloride-root lutetium oxide produced at scale through this project has reached an internationally advanced level in terms of performance. The implementation of this project has optimized the industrial structure and achieved the efficient utilization of rare earth resources.

Good News | The project “Green and Efficient Full-Process Separation Technology and Application for Ion-adsorption Rare Earth Resources in Fujian,” led by our company, has successfully passed acceptance testing.

On October 23, Wang Nianfeng, Director of the Energy Conservation Division of the Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, along with the project acceptance expert team, conducted an on-site acceptance of the “Green and Efficient Full-Process Separation Technology and Application for Ion-Adsorption Rare Earth Resources in Fujian,” a project led by our company. Zhang Fusheng, Deputy Director of the Comprehensive Business Department of Fujian Metallurgical (Holding) Co., Ltd., Zhong Kexiang, Vice President of Xiamen Tungsten Industry and Executive Director of Jinlong Rare Earth, Chen Dakun, General Manager of Jinlong Rare Earth, and representatives from various units of the project consortium also attended the meeting. Tribute | The Party Branch of the Company Visits and Offers Condolences to Veteran Soldiers Who Fought in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea

To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army’s participation in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, and to carry forward and promote the great spirit of resisting U.S. aggression and aiding Korea, on October 23, Zhang Yongjian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch of the company, led party members from the company to visit and offer condolences to Lü Liankui, an elderly veteran who fought in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea. On behalf of the Party Branch, Zhang Yongjian expressed profound respect and warm greetings to the veteran volunteer soldier, and together they watched the “Conference Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army’s Participation in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea.” The 91-year-old veteran Lü Liankui is the grandfather of Lü Congjun from the Automotive Products Sales Department of our company’s Magnetic Materials Division. He joined the army at the age of 20 and went to fight in Korea in September 1952, dedicating his life to the cause of resisting U.S. aggression and aiding Korea.

The company’s Lean Production Project Kick-off Meeting was held successfully, and Lean culture has become Jinlong’s guiding principle!

On the afternoon of October 22, the Jinyong Rare Earth IAM Promotion Office organized a kickoff meeting for the company’s lean production project. Attending the meeting were Zhong Lixiang, Chairman of Shuben Technology; Tang Weigen, Lean Expert at Shuben Technology; Chen Dakun, General Manager of the company; members of the Executive Committee; lean project managers; heads of various departments; section chiefs; and team leaders—totaling more than 130 participants. At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Tang Weigen, a consultant expert from Shuben Technology, provided a detailed introduction to the company’s lean production project implementation plan, with particular emphasis on both long-term and short-term lean production initiatives. Following the expert’s presentation, a formal authorization ceremony for the lean production project was held on-site.

Several of our company’s projects funded by the Provincial Department of Science and Technology have successfully passed acceptance!

From the afternoon of October 19 to the morning of October 20, 2020, led by Director Li Jianyi from the Technology Transfer Division of the Fujian Provincial Department of Science and Technology, a team of experts, together with personnel from the Longyan Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and the Changting County Bureau of Industry, Information, and Technology, conducted on-site inspections of four projects undertaken by our company: the 2017 Fujian Province CAS STS Program Supporting Project “Comprehensive Recovery and Utilization of High-Value Rare Earths,” the “Development and Industrialization of Special-Shaped Magnet Steel for Servo Motors,” as well as two projects jointly developed by our company and the Technology Center of Xiamen Tungsten Co., Ltd.: “Development and Industrialization of Rare-Earth Permanent Magnet Materials for Inverter Air Conditioners” and “High-Corrosion-Resistant Surface Protection Technology for Magnet Steel Dedicated to New Energy Vehicles.”

On September 21, 2020, the unveiling ceremony for the “Jinlong Rare Earth Study and Education Base” was successfully held at the Qu Qiubai Memorial Hall.
