To further enhance the company’s capabilities in scientific and technological innovation and to create a platform for talent aggregation, technological innovation, and industrial development, the first Academic Committee Meeting and Appointment Ceremony of the Fujian Province Rare Earth Functional Materials Key Laboratory (hereinafter referred to as the Key Laboratory) was successfully held at our company on May 20.

Experts and professors including Cai Wei, professor at Harbin University of Science and Technology; Sun Daoheng, associate dean of the School of Aeronautics at Xiamen University; He Changzhen, researcher at the Fujian Institute of Matter Structure, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Li Yuhu, associate professor at Jiangxi University of Science and Technology; and He Hanbing, associate professor at Central South University, as well as Chen Dakun, general manager of the company, Zhang Yongjian, general manager of the Rare Earth Metals Division and director of the Key Laboratory, leaders from the County Bureau of Industry, Information Technology, and Science & Technology, representatives from the Xiamen Tungsten Rare Earth Research Institute and the Xiamen Tungsten Magnetic Materials Research Institute, and heads of various laboratories and key technical personnel—altogether more than 80 people—attended the meeting.

At the outset of the conference, General Manager Chen Dakun expressed his gratitude to the distinguished experts, professors, and leaders for their attendance, and delivered a keynote speech titled “Innovation-Driven High-Quality Development.” In his speech, he shared the company’s strategic plan for the next five years, emphasizing that only by driving high-quality enterprise development through innovation and building core competitiveness can we secure our future.

Subsequently, Zhang Yongjian, General Manager of the Company’s Rare Earth Metals Division and Director of the Key Laboratory, provided a detailed explanation of the Key Laboratory’s operational mechanisms and R&D priorities. He also appointed seven top experts and scholars in the fields of rare earth materials and rare earth applications—including Cai Wei—as expert members of the Academic Committee of the Fujian Provincial Key Laboratory for Functional Materials, and presented them with appointment letters.

Following the launch ceremony, the attending academic committee members delivered fascinating presentations on cutting-edge technologies related to rare-earth materials and their applications. The on-site exchange of knowledge and collision of ideas provided us with a feast of intellectual insights and an academic banquet.

In the future, the company will take this conference as an opportunity to leverage its advantages in rare earth resources, industrial chain integration, and talent pool. It will fully harness the advisory and decision-making roles of its academic committee members and strive to build the key laboratory into a first-class domestic platform for rare-earth technology innovation, thereby supporting and leading the development of Fujian Province’s rare-earth industry.
